Microfilaaria



It is the larval stage of an adult worm , superfamily Filariodea and a nematode . The female worm gives birth to this larva . Microfilaria completes its development in the insect host . It is unstained , colourless , transperant ,, elongated and the slender body , varies from 280 to 290 μ in length and 6 to 7 μ in breadth and may or may not be covered with sheath with blunt heads and rather pointed tails .

B.. Unsheathed microfilariae

i)                    Mf . perstans
ii)                  Mf. Ozzardi
iii)                Mf. Streptocerca

iv)                Mf. Volvulus .
